Be Helpful in forums – Can Drive Users

in Marketing

Whenever we hear the word Participate in forums the first thing that comes to our mind is Spam forums with link to your sites. No I am talking about that but what I mean is participate in related forums and be helpful to the community or discussion lists.

Do not only think about links in forums but think about positioning yourself as an expert in the area and build and prove your authority. This can help you get more readers.

Even you can offer to moderate part of a forum.

Back in 2004 when I was trying some online presence with Go4Expert.com I was very active on many forums like

Webmaster-talk.com Still to an extent.
DigitalPoint.com Still quite active
SitePoint.com
HighRankings.com
And many other. (You may not be able to see my profile unless you are a member of the given forum)

So do you participate in forum?
